FIFA 15 DOES THE DOUBLE
‘FIFA 15’ is imperious at No1 for a second week, despite the arrival of three new games in the Top 5 and a 70% drop in sales.
‘Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor’ from Warner Bros. charts at No2 with the biggest launch for a game based on The Lord of the Rings. Sales are split 56% on PS4, 41% on Xbox One and 3% on PC. ‘Forza Horizon 2’ starts its engines at No3 (73% of sales on Xbox One and 27% on Xbox 360) ahead of 3DS Amiibo-ready ‘Super Smash Bros.’ one place behind at No4. No1 three weeks ago, ‘Destiny’ (-30%) has to settle for No5 this week.
The launch of the PS4 version of Minecraft gives Sony’s versions of the ever popular block building title a boost, pushing ‘Minecraft: Playstation Edition’ (+176%) up from No9 to No6 with 64% of sales going to PS4 and 36% to the original PS3 version. ‘Minecraft: Xbox Edition’ (+0%) drops from No4 to No8, but will no doubt bounce back with the launch of the Xbox One version later in the year.
‘Disney Infinity 2.0’ (-26%) slips from No3 to No7, while ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ (-12%) and ‘The Sims 4’ (-18%) hang on to a Top 10 position, falling to No’s 9 and 10 respectively. Ubisoft’s ‘Watch Dogs’ (-28%) is not so lucky, dropping out of the Top 10 for the first time, down from No6 to No11. The only other new entry to make the Top 40 this week is ‘Crimes & Punishments: Sherlock Holmes’ from Focus Home Interactive/Koch which debuts at No27.
